What is SEO “POWER WRITE” and why should I be bothered by it?
Well the idea came to me after reading an article “How to create compelling content that ranks well in search engines ” by Brian Clark – founder of Copyblogger and Scribe. If you create content in the internet or for your clients or share your products and services which you ned to generate turns of traffic to your site you need to understand about SEO. Basically, it is using these ideas to create a compelling content for your website, articles and blogs. In the information age people are searching for information through the internet, you need to figure out what they need and how best to use the Search Engine from different browsers – Google, Bing, Yahoo to share the information. In term of creating SEO copy for marketing your products this of how the SE works _ SEO is key if you’re going to profit from the information age powered by the internet search engines.
I won’t be going into the nifty gritty deals of the SE – like crawling, indexing and ranking. But the knowledge and application of the ideas for this article will help you to master to be at the fore front of the SEO game.
1. Title
Any article begins with a title. The title grasps the attention of your targeted audience making them to take notice. In writing articles, advert copies, weblogs and blog posts the title is very important. What are the people searching for? In writing the article you make the title to quell this curiosity.
You should make the title to be not more than 72 characters for search purposes
2. Meta Description
There are internal workings of the search which you don’t take notice. But it’s very important for how you article or website is made visible or not for the search results people make. This determines whether or not your content is noticed by the search engines. Creating compelling contents also means that you need to take hid to the meta – description of your content. It’s usually what your content looks like in the search engine search output. It is normally called – Search Engine Results Page (SERP).
The Wikipedia describes it thus:
“Asearch engine results pages (SERP), is the listing of web pages returned by a searchengine in response to a keyword query. The results normally include a list of web pages with titles, a link to the page, and a short description showing where the Keywords have matched content within the page. A SERP may refer to a single page of links returned, or to the set of all links returned for a search query.”
You need keep it at 165 characters
3. Content
Your content should be at least 300 words. The number of words is not just the important thing but it should be idea or information reach so as to meet the desires of your customers, clients or prospects. The quality of the content you create will either make people to respond or take action through clicking, bookmaking, emailing, or connecting to your content via social media – Facebook, Google, LinkedIn and myriads of social media networks in the internet.
Perhaps this idea from Goggle would help:
“Ask yourself what create value for your users”
4. Keyword frequency
You’ll be wondering if we’re talking about statistical concepts. Well it looks like it! Let me first of all explain what these mean in lay man’s tern. The key words are just the words you’ll normally tag in your content. They are the words that you’ll want to be associated with your article. For example, in this article my key words should stem from the words in my title that I’ll want the search engines to take note of during the search process. There are words like – SEO, power write, compelling content, and SEO friendly content. The frequency is how often these words occur and the density is how they are dispersed within the article or content. Keyword “Frequency is the number of times your targeted keyword phrase appears on the page. Keyword density is the ratio of those keywords to the rest of the words on the page.”
The word density should not be 5.5% of the total word used or you could be penalise by Google.
5. Creating hypertext Links – link –in , link- out back link
Remember, content + promotion = link. Is that simple! You can create links through the following ways;
· Links to other HTML documents or data objects
· Links to other places in the same HTML document
